On Wednesday, March 19th, AG hosted an intimate gathering at the acclaimed Los Angeles dining destination, N/Naka. The evening served as a celebration of our Japanese Jacquard fabric - one of the standout textiles from our Spring ’25 collection.
A two-Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles, N/Naka is renowned for its thoughtful balance of tradition and modernity, elevated by California’s seasonal bounty. Led by Chef Niki Nakayama—one of the most celebrated female chefs in the country—N/Naka offers a contemporary interpretation of kaiseki, the refined multi-course dining experience rooted in Japanese culture. Each dish is a testament to Chef Nakayama’s artistry, blending classical techniques with fresh, local ingredients to create a dining experience that continues to define the city’s culinary landscape.
“It’s about enjoying the moment,
the current offerings of the season,
and ultimately, the food in front of you.”
Chef Niki Nakayama
Much like the culinary artistry at N/Naka, our Spring ’25 collection reflects a deep respect for Japanese craftsmanship - most notably in our Japanese Jacquard fabric.
Designed with a light texture and intricate raised patterns, this fabric offers a quiet sense of depth and understated elegance. Its unique threadwork draws inspiration from the Wabi Sabi philosophy - an ancient Zen Buddhist perspective that finds beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and the natural flow of life. Rooted in the belief that objects become more meaningful with age and individuality, Wabi Sabi celebrates the marks of time as a form of artistry. The woven threads, reminiscent of ocean waves, embody this spirit -echoing the fluidity of nature and the graceful rhythm of change. Like the philosophy itself, the fabric invites reflection: subtle at first glance, yet rich in texture, intention, and quiet complexity.
The Wabi Sabi philosophy that inspired the fabric becomes the cornerstone of our Spring ’25 collection—a curated selection of elevated essentials that celebrate craftsmanship, and individuality.
Drawing from AG’s California heritage, the collection finds its muse in the tranquil beauty of a coastal property in Sonoma County. Relaxed silhouettes, airy fabrics, and a sun-washed palette capture the effortless spirit of the season.
Grounded in a strong work ethic and Americana roots, nautical influences and classic denim emerge as natural companions—timeless, functional, and unmistakably down to earth. The result is a collection defined by relaxed sophistication, one that honors the past while embracing the unknown.
