This season, we're turning toward prints as an ever-deepening exploration of self-expression. This creative exploration kicks off with Art Project, our new capsule collection of printed jeans, jackets, trousers, and scarves. All the artwork in this collection is original and done by hand in Los Angeles, with each print undergoing a journey of transformation as it unfolds from the initial concept. The evolution of art is ongoing, shaped by various forces influencing the artist and taking on a new life and new meaning as it moves into the world. There are no limits—art is infinite and endlessly expansive.
Inspiration Comes Alive
Every print in this collection carries a unique story, whether influenced by sound, movement, music, or moments spent in nature. Our artists tapped into sources of personal inspiration as they created original paintings, drawings, and mixed-media works. The Art Project prints were born from this flow state, manifested through pastels, watercolors, acrylics, charcoal, photography, and more.
Ultimately, each print transcends its initial form to become its own living, changing entity. The translation of the original artwork to digital print requires finesse at every step. That’s why we keep each stage of the process in-house, all the way down to the steaming, washing, and finishing. Like a painter with expert command of color and brushstroke, the artists use precise color matching and seamless pattern repetition to digitize the original designs while maintaining a sense of spontaneity and effortlessness. Our state-of-the-art printing machines preserve the integrity of the designs, locking in the artwork before we cut and sew each garment.
